Friendly locals, good, long waves, go to Peru! But as I said DON'T fly Air Europa: £150 each way one board, then loose them in Madrid for 4 days with complamentary bad service and additional run out of food on a 12 hour flight. Oh yeah and have to pay for drinks and headphones for movies! Punta Huanchaco is a good base for night life and surf, contact Hostel Merci (situated on the seafront next to surferburger) for tour guide and good bloke Francisco to travel north to other point breaks and secret spots, but you will have to find them, just ask nicely!
